My name is Eoin Corcoran, I am an Irish engineer & scientist, providing expert testing and advice services in Ireland and abroad. I use top-tier microscopy equipment, analytical tools and a broad range of standard lab equipment to reach science-based, evidence-back facts and opinions.
In 2018 I graduated from University College Dublin with a MEng in Materials Science & Engineering, and a BSc in Mechanical Engineering. Since then, I have acted as a consultant in many various projects, ranging from the forensic examination of materials which have failed in service, to quality control testing of components of dubious origins, to product development of novel chemistries.
Initially working as a sole trader, in 2024 I established CCFE. Through collaboration with local Dublin-based laboratories, I have access to a wide range of analytical equipment such as: optical microscopes; scanning electron microscopy (SEM); energy dispersive x-ray spectroscopy (EDS); Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR); Metallographic equipment such as: Automated abrasive cut-off wheel saw; Epoxy encapsulation equipment; Automated grinding and polishing wheel.
